installing digest package

Hi,

I have Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.2

RStudio version 1.1.414

R 3.4.1 (tried also with R 3.4.3)

I am relatively new to R/Rstudio and I tried to install digest package with command in RStudio:

****

install.packages("digest")

****

It produced following output:

****

> install.packages("digest")
trying URL 'https://cran.rstudio.com/bin/macosx/el-capitan/contrib/3.4/digest_0.6.15.tgz'
Warning in install.packages :
cannot open URL 'https://cran.rstudio.com/bin/macosx/el-capitan/contrib/3.4/digest_0.6.15.tgz': HTTP status was '404 Not Found'
Error in download.file(url, destfile, method, mode = "wb", ...) :
cannot open URL 'https://cran.rstudio.com/bin/macosx/el-capitan/contrib/3.4/digest_0.6.15.tgz'
Warning in install.packages :
download of package ‘digest’ failed

****

However when I went to URL itself I found that there is no such thing as digest_0.6.15.tgz in folder 3.4. Instead there is digest_0.6.14.tgz.

Therefore I solved this problem using following command

****

install.packages("https://cran.rstudio.com/bin/macosx/el-capitan/contrib/3.4/digest_0.6.14.tgz", repo=NULL, type="source")

****

and now it works perfectly. I am just wondering is there something I did not understood correctly when installing packages or is there some kind of bug in R or Rstudio?

Thank you!
