Unable to start rstudio in ubuntu 11.04

I am trying to run rstudio-desktop edition on my ubuntu 11.04. I am getting following error message "Unable to find an installation of R on the system (which R didn't return valid output); Unable to locate R binary by scanning standard locations"

Hi there,

It sounds to me like you either don't have R installed or don't have it installed in one of the standard locations. What happens if you execute the following command:

$ which R

If you didn't install R using sudo apt-get install r-base did you install it into another location (e.g. somewhere in your home directory).

Thanks ...It worked. sudo apt-get install r-base.

I had not installed the r-base and was assuming RStudio would install all//

-Thank you.
