Getting the newest RStudio builds

Via the Web

The newest stable versions of RStudio Desktop and Server can be found here:

If there's a preview release available, you can find it here:

And if you want to get the very latest builds, you can browse daily builds here:

Via RStudio

You can check for new versions of RStudio using RStudio itself; go to the Help menu and click Check for Updates.

This is the most conservative method to look for updates; we post new versions to the web site frequently, but we don't advertise them to existing installations as often. (This implies that RStudio may say you're running the newest version when a newer version exists on the website!)

Via URL to install image

More generally, RStudio maintains URLs which always redirect to the newest install image for a given platform and release type (stable, preview, or daily). 2. Using the name of the package you see as a guide, append the name of the package to the URL, replacing the version number with "latest" (and "fedora" with "redhat" for desktop builds) =>

  3. Replace "/daily/" in the URL with one of "/latest/daily/", '/latest/preview/", or "/latest/stable/" to form the final URL =>
